The Red Popcorn Wagon ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. We built our app to share our event schedule without collecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains our commitment to your privacy.
1. We Do NOT Collect Your Data
Our app is designed to respect your privacy:
- No Location Tracking: When you tap "Get Directions," your location is used only on your device to open Apple Maps. We never see, store, or track your location.
- No Personal Information: We don't collect names, emails, phone numbers, or any other personal information.
- No Analytics: We don't track how you use the app or collect any usage data.
- No Data Storage: All app data (events and specials) is read-only. We don't store anything about you.
2. Push Notifications (Optional)
If you choose to enable notifications:
- We use a device token (a random ID) to send you reminders 3 hours before events
- This token cannot identify you personally
- You can turn off notifications anytime in your phone settings
- If you disable notifications, we delete your token
3. How the App Works
Our app is simple and privacy-focused:
- Event Data: The app downloads our event schedule from our server. This is one-way communication - we send data to your phone, but your phone sends nothing back to us.
- Get Directions: When you tap this button, the app uses Apple Maps on your device. Your location never leaves your phone.
- No Account Required: You don't need to create an account or provide any information to use our app.
4. Third-Party Services
Our app uses these services to function:
- Firebase (Google): Hosts our event schedule data and sends push notifications
- Apple Push Notification Service: Delivers notifications to your device
- Apple Maps: Provides directions (your location data stays on your device)
These services have their own privacy policies, but they cannot access your personal data through our app because we don't collect it.
5. Your Privacy Controls
You have complete control:
- Notifications: Turn on/off anytime in Settings > Notifications
- Location: Only used when you tap "Get Directions" - you can deny this permission
- Delete Everything: Simply delete the app and all data is removed from your device
6. Children's Privacy
Our app is safe for all ages. Since we don't collect any personal information, children can safely use our app.
7. Changes to This Policy
If we ever change how our app works, we'll update this policy and the "Last updated" date.
